Small Business Book Club
Come to Concord Library and listen to authors speak about their small business development books.
Small business owners are some of the biggest consumers of business development books in Australia, especially as a means of furthering their management knowledge.
This series of Small Business Book Club events brings authors direct to the small business community in a casual, informative setting. Local libraries offer many benefits to small business operators. As well as borrowing books, there's internet and handy research facilities, and access to current and past editions of newspapers and journals.
How it works
The Small Business Book Club differs from the usual format. There's no need to read the book before coming along, and no pressure to contribute to the discussion.
The Club is a forum for a featured author to discuss the concept of their book, read excerpts from it and talk about the ideas which motivated them to write it. After reading an excerpt, the author talks about the broader concepts of the book and then takes questions.
Concord Library staff give advice on how to get the most out of the library at no cost. They'll list all the library's services and provide the name of all the business and personal development books available in the stack.
And there's plenty of time to network with others over light refreshments to talk over the topics raised by the author.
A new author each featured each month. The Small Business Book Club is held the second Wednesday evening of every month. To find out who this month's author is, visit the What's On section and scroll through the calendar on the right hand side of the page.
This series of events is presented by the Department of State and Regional Development and City of Canada Bay Council.
