Filming and Photography

Council supports filming and photography in the local area and has hosted all manner of filming customers ranging from small student films to large scale network productions.  Council has a responsibility to our residents, businesses and the local environment to ensure these activities are carried out in a way that minimises disruption and inconvenience.

Filming Conditions

Council’s Filming Conditions have been developed in accordance with the Local Government Filming protocol.  It is recommended that anyone hoping to film within the City of Canada Bay reads these conditions prior to submitting an application to Council.

Fees and Charges  

Refer to Council's 2009-2010 Filming and Photography Fees and Charges for all related fees.

Payment

If the application attracts a fee, then payment must be made before filming commences.  You can pay by cheque, credit card (Diners Club card not excepted), EFTPOS (at Council's Customer Service Centre only) or cash.

Reduction/Waiving of fees

Any request for the reduction/waiving of fees must be in writing to Council’s General Manager.  Council's Reduction/Waiver of Filming Fees Application Form must be completed and submitted with a completed application form and any additional documentation deemed relevant.

Requests must be submitted at least 14 days prior to filming.  Council will consider applications in line with the Department of Local Government's Filming Protocol 2009 if they are of a non commercial, educational or community service nature and will not impact resident and business access/amenity.
