Great North Road hosts three distinct business districts: Abbotsford, Wareemba and Five Dock. The smallest business area is Abbotsford but small in size does not reflect the stature of the resident businesses.

In 1996 it became the home of award winning restaurant Dedes where diners can enjoy the sweeping views of the Parramatta River and feast on fine wine and food. The club also boasts a boat mooring shuttle service, a ferry wharf, bus route and car park. Its neighbour the Abbotsford Boat Shed is also over 100 years old and offers an extensive range of marine services and leisure boat hire.
Further along Great North Road in Abbotsford is the relatively new Café Pavilion. Created from the heritage listed Dulux recreation centre, this eatery offers a fusion of old and new styles to create an oasis of peace, perfect for breakfast or lunch.
