Community and Culture

Council aims to work with people of the City of Canada Bay, supporting community strengths and building capacity in the following ways:

  • Responding flexibly, innovatively and equitably to residents’ needs
  • Encouraging genuine partnerships with residents through participation in activities, services and decision making processes
  • Being well informed by research into current and future resident needs
  • Working in partnership with other service providers
  • Valuing and enhancing the social, cultural and economic diversity of the City of Canada Bay
  • Collaborating with all levels of government to facilitate service provision
  • Developing, supporting and where appropriate providing direct services for residents
  • Encouraging sponsorship initiatives to engage local business in community activities
  • Ensuring sustainability of services, programs and activities to achieve positive outcomes through integrated planning
  • Ensuring access and equity in the delivery of Council services
