Community Grants Program

Council provides financial assistance to community groups and non-profit organisations for projects that encourage community initiatives that promote the well-being of our residents.

Council looks for projects that deliver high quality services and programs and activities that are of interest to residents of all ages.

Funding is available for:

  • a special event;
  • a seeding subsidy; (eg to establish a new service where no other source of funding exists)
  • the purchase of equipment;
  • minor capital works;
  • the support of locally based voluntary services not funded from any other source; and
  • the extension or improvement of an existing service.

Applicants must be non-profit groups or organisations that are either based within the Council area or provide services and activities within the area.

Previously, funds were provided to a range of groups including education, migrant services, aged services and community radio groups.

If you wish to apply for a Community Grant, please complete the Community Grants Program for Organisations and Groups Application Form.

The Community Grants program is advertised from April to May each year, with successful applications announced in June.  For further information, please contact Community Services on 9911 6555.
