Senior Drivers

The City of Canada Bay's ageing local population is supported by Council in assisting senior residents retain their drivers licence, mobility and independence. Council's Road Safety Officer organises senior driver workshops in partnership with the NRMA.

These free road safety education workshops are tailored specifically for residents aged 60 years and over.  Attendees may receive a Council sponsored voucher to undertake an on-road session with a qualified driving instructor at the NRMA Safer Driving School at North Strathfield.

At the workshop you will learn about:

  • Low risk driving
  • Latest options for drivers over 80 years to help maintain your drivers licence
  • Pedestrian safety
  • Refresher on Road Rules
  • Driving and health related issues
  • Hazard perception
  • New vehicle purchase: Safety and environmental friendly ratings and information.

For bookings or further information please e-mail Council or call 9911 6555 and ask for the Road Safety Officer.
