Get creative – dress up your pup or critter in comical guise (fashion fur-paws welcome), come up with a humorous tagline (we’re not kitten you!) or simply catch your four-legged or winged friend being irresistibly cute, cheeky or goofy (though nothing too cat-astrophic!).
This year’s theme for Concord Carnival is ‘Paws ‘n’ Claws, Scales ‘n’ Tails’ and festival-goers are encouraged to bring along their beloved pets to Greenlees Park, Concord on Sunday, 12 October.
Recent research has revealed that Australia is officially pet obsessed, with about two million more pets than people.
According to the Animal Health Alliance’s latest report - Pet Ownership in Australia 2013 - Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership in the world, with about 25 million pets living in about 63 per cent of the nation’s homes.
