Jump to the Beat at Concord Carnival

| 11 September 2017

Tap your toes to the rhythm and get ready to bust a move as you celebrate the joy that music brings to young and old when local and national dance groups, musicians and singers transform Concord’s Greenless Park into a hive of sound and movement.

Be inspired to create music at Circus Solarus’ Junk Percussion workshops using recycled items and move your body in time at the silent disco, where participants will listen to music through wireless headphones.

Hear live performances by the Hot Potato Band featuring three drummers creating synchronised grooves on a deconstructed drum kit along with a sousaphone, baritone saxophones and an array of horns completing the musical notes.

With their heads in the clouds and their feet buried deep in the roots of New Orleans, enjoy the Hi-tops Brass Band as they blend 10 pieces of raw brass with the who's who of Australian hip-hop.

Head along to see team who are on a mission to and help educate kids of all ages on how important a healthy and active lifestyle is. As they dance their cares away, the competition between and begins to brew in this show, which is sure to have young ones on their feet.

Along with these performances, Concord Carnival also features a petting zoo and pony ride area along with amusement rides, mask-making and face painting, roving performers, more than 80 food and merchandise stalls and a dedicated picnic area.

City of Canada Bay is proud to present a plastic bag and helium balloon free Concord Carnival, where event-goers can fill up their water bottles at bubblers, in an effort to reduce waste and the event’s environmental footprint. Visitors are encouraged to cycle to the event, bring their own reusable bag and drink bottle.

The event is also dog friendly, so bring along your pooch and some clean up bags.

Concord Carnival is on Sunday, 15 October from 10am-4pm at Greenlees Park, Concord. For more information, please visit: whatson.canadabay.nsw.gov.au
