Abandoned Vehicles
There is an Abandoned Vehicle in my street, what can I do?
The vehicle must be out of registration before the Law Enforcement Officers can remove the vehicle.
If the vehicle registration is still valid you will need to contact the police on (02) 9745 1333.
To report the abandoned vehicle that is out of registration you will need to contact Council's Call Centre on (02) 9911 6555.
You will need to supply the following:
- Name and address
- Description of the car (including the number plate details if available)
These details will be recorded and the Law Enforcement Officer will investigate the matter and arrange for the vehicle to be removed.
Animals
- I have recently purchased a puppy/kitten, how do I go about registering it with Council?
- There is a dead animal on the footpath/road, how can I arrange to have it collected?
- My next door neighbour's dog is continuously barking, what can I do?

What do I need to lodge my development application/construction certificate?

What building controls are in place for my property?
To find out what building controls are in place for your property you will need to speak with our Duty Officer. The Duty officer is available between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday to answer general enquiries either in person at Civic Centre 1a Marlborough Street Drummoyne or by calling (02) 9911 6555.
Council Meetings
How do I arrange to speak at a meeting?
Simply fill out the Request to Address Council Meeting form and return it to Civic Centre 1a Marlborough Street Drummoyne by 4.00 pm on the day of the meeting. You can do this up to 14 days in advance of the meeting.

How do I access information held by Council?
To access information held by Council you will need to lodge an Access to Information Application form.
How do I acquire the Lot and DP number for a property?
Lot and DP information is provided on the rates notice for the property, otherwise please contact Department of Lands on (02) 9228 6666.
Fences
What are the regulations regarding dividing fences?
- The Dividing Fences Act, 1991 outlines the laws regarding dividing fences
- A copy of the complete exempt development provisions also known as "Exempt Developments" can be purchased for $20 from Council
- Any disputes between neighbours regarding dividing fences are out of Council's jurisdiction. You will need to contact the Community Justice Centre:

Graffiti
Can Council remove graffiti?
Yes, Council does remove graffiti from Council property (i.e. bus stops).
Council's City Services are able to remove graffiti from private property at a fee. To organise a quote please contact the Graffiti Hotline on (02) 9911 6444.

How do I obtain a resident street parking/park permit?

Trees
Do I need permission to Prune or Remove Tress?
A Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applies to the whole of the City of Canada Bay Council area to ensure the long term survival of the landscape character of the area.
To prune or remove a trees under the Trees Preservation Order an application must be lodged.

- I have recently moved into the area and do not have a garbage bin. How do I obtain one?
