Drummoyne Oval Precinct
An exciting upgrade planned for Drummoyne Oval and the surrounding area is moving ahead. Council was successful in achieving $5.3 million through the Government's Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Projects program earlier this year. This funding provided Council with an opportunity to enhance the Drummoyne Oval precinct to develop a quality sporting, recreational, community and cultural area. A main feature of the upgrade is a new community facility and further improvements include an upgrade to the existing clubhouse, stormwater and sustainable water management, upgraded practise wickets and additional parking. Work on the Drummoyne Oval precinct project has now begun. For information on works in progress read the October Community Bulletin.
In conjunction with this project, upgrade work at Taplin Park boat ramp has also recently commenced. Through a successful application to the State Government's Better Boating Program, Council received funds to extend the boat ramp and build a new pontoon. The boat ramp is now closed until the upgrade is complete. A number of boat ramps in the City are available for use during this time. These are located at Bayview Park in Concord, Cabarita Park in Cabarita and Blaxland Road in Rhodes. We apologise for any inconvenience to our community during these works.
