Affordable housing program
The City of Canada Bay adopted an Affordable Housing Policy on 7 August 2007 and amendments were made to this Policy on 12 August 2009, 7 February 2012 and April 2016.
By providing affordable rental housing, council aims to assist people earning low to moderate incomes to live and work in the City of Canada Bay, provide them with improved rental housing security and enable them to establish savings for the private rental market or home ownership. council currently owns 27 dwellings located within the North Strathfield and Concord West area, which range in size from 1 bedroom to 2 or 3 bedrooms. Council has appointed Bridge Housing to manage the units.
