Local Heritage Awards
Canada Bay Council commends owners of heritage properties and people in the community who have made outstanding contributions to conserving and maintaining our heritage and for projects that encourage an understanding of the heritage of the City of Canada Bay, through its Local Heritage Awards program.
This year the awards were presented at Council's Sustainability Awards Night on 7 September 2009. The Sustainability Awards recognise the contributions of business, community organisations and individuals in creating a more Sustainable City.
Awards were presented for:
- Best maintained heritage property;
- Best new development involving heritage;
- Special heritage work; and
- Best conserved heritage precinct.

Best Maintained Heritage Property Award
Winner: 9 Drummoyne Avenue, Drummoyne
Runner Up: 4 Lindfield Avenue, Concord
Best New Development Involving Heritage Award
Winner: 93 First Avenue, Five Dock
Runner Up: 48 Zoeller Street, Concord
Special Heritage Work Award
Winner: Concord Heritage Society
Runner Up: Frank Bonnitcha
Best Conserved Heritage Precinct Award
Winner: Lindfield Avenue, Concord
