Local Heritage Assistance Fund 2008/2009

Council is committed to the conservation of local built heritage, and to further assist owners, Council has established a Local Heritage Assistance Fund. The Fund provides dollar for dollar funding for small conservation works.

Up to $3,000 is available for work to properties that are heritage items.

Up to $2,000 is available for work to contributory buildings in a heritage conservation area.

To be eligible for funding, the work must be undertaken on a heritage item or on a contributory building within a conservation area listed in the Canada Bay Local Environmental Plan 2008 and the Canada Bay Development Control Plan. The projects must be completed by 29 May 2009.

Projects that would be considered for funding include:

  • Roof repair or replacement;
  • External Repainting;
  • Reconstruction of fencing;
  • Reconstruction of original windows and/or doors;
  • Replacement of gutters;
  • Reconstruction of verandahs;
  • Structural repairs;
  • Repair of original verandah tiles.
