Duty Planner

A Duty Planner provides a technical enquiry service for planning-related matters.

Provided that you have a clear idea of what you want to do, the Duty Planner should be able to tell you which Council controls apply to your proposal and answer any questions you may have about the process.  Talking to this officer is a good starting point and should help you to decide if your proposal will be acceptable to Council, or if you need to reconsider your proposal.

The Duty Planner is provided by Council to assist and guide applicants on Council's development controls.  Please be aware that this officer does get busy with counter and phone enquiries and as a result is unable to go through all of Council's controls in detail or to provide a detailed development application assessment.  If you need detailed planning advice, please contact a Planning Consultant or you can arrange a meeting with Council's DA Pre-Lodgement Panel.

If you are seeking to redevelop a site for a larger or more complex proposal and would like more certainty as to whether your development application will be acceptable, Council offers a Development Appication Pre-Lodgement Panel service.

Enquiries related to environmental health, stormwater, Building Code of Australia etc should be directed to our Customer Service Centre on 9911 6555 or by accessing the relevant areas of our web page.
