Planning for the Rhodes Community
RHODES COMMUNITY REFERENCE GROUP (RCRG)
Do you live, work in, or visit the Rhodes Peninsula?
If you do, then Council’s Executive Town Planner and Place Manager, Ursula Lang, wants to hear from you.
You can help to shape the Rhodes Peninsula community by answering the following questions and sending your responses back to me by email at ursula.lang@canadabay.nsw.gov.au
- Are you a resident, worker, shopper, business owner, or other visitor to the area?
- What is your age group?
(specify whether 10-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, over 60?) - Describe the type of community which you would like to see in the Rhodes Peninsula?
- What is “good” about the Rhodes Peninsula?
- What is “bad” about the Rhodes Peninsula?
- If you could change 3 things about the area, what would you change?
- Can you identify any special opportunities that present themselves in the area?
Why not join the new Rhodes Community Reference Group to help Council shape the type of community which you will be proud to be associated with.
Find out about development and community issues, and help design community facilities and public art in the area.
Meet and get to know your neighbours and your local Councillors!

Important Information
- Council is now the Consent Authority for the whole of the Rhodes Peninsula. This change occurred following an amendment to State Environment Planning Policy (Major Projects) gazetted on 27 July 2007. Council does not have SEPP1 delegations, and is still required to obtain the Department's concurrence for developments which exceed allowable floor space and building heights in Sydney Regional Environmental Plan No. 29 (Rhodes Peninsula).
- Thiess Services, the contracted Remediator for Homebush Bay, has advised that it will be installing piles into the Bay as part of the provision of a remediation encapsulation barrier. This work will continue throughout September and may generate noise. For further information, please ring Catherine Fletcher (Community Liaison Officer) on 1800 009 414.
