Water Campaign

Sydney Water Every Drop Counts

The Sydney Water Every Drop Counts Program assists Council's, businesses and schools by encouraging them to value water and adopt water wise practices. More information is given on the Sydney Water website.

The City of Canada Bay joined this voluntary program in 2007.  Council works with Sydney Water staff to identify ways save water in Council's building, parks and day to day work practices.  By leading by example Council encourages businesses and the community to also use water wisely.

In 2009, the Sustainable Business Program saw the City of Canada Bay and Leichhardt Council's form a partnership with Sydney Water to businesses to save water and money.

The Water Campaign™

The Water Campaign™ is a program that was designed by the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI), and was launched at the Global Cities 21 ICLEI World Congress in June 2000.

It has been designed as a strategic approach to water management in the Local Government Sector.  It is an innovative milestone based program that is structured similar to that of the Cities for Climate Protection Program which Council has undertaken successfully.

You can download further information regarding the The Water Campaign™ from the ICLEI website.
