The program includes three elements:
- Bikewise: A confidence course with obstacles that makes for a challenging and fun circuit for children to ride through. Parents are encouraged to join in with their children. This is not suitable for children still riding with training wheels;
- Cycleskill: Focuses on different aspects of safe riding; and
- Mechanic Clinic and Coaching Presentations: Learn how to undertake basic bike maintenance and repair. The 30 minute Clinics alternate with 10 minute presentations on helmets, bike set up and transition from training wheels.
This program is facilitated by appropriately trained coaches from the Lidcombe Auburn Cycle Club. Bicycle NSW and Ride 2 School will have information and giveaways available on the day. Light refreshments and prizes by Derivan will be provided on the day. Places are limited.
This event is now booked out. Council will be incorporating this event into the Vacation Care Program. If you are interested in your child attending this event during school holidays, please complete the Expression of Interest Form.
