“Last year’s festival attracted over 110,000 people, with this being Ferragosto’s 20th birthday, we are working to make it better than ever,” Mayor Helen McCaffrey said.
“Ferragosto is grounded in the strongly-Italian local community, and the festival provides a great day out for family and friends to celebrate the lively multiculturalism of the area.”
Now in its 20th year, Ferragosto will showcase the best of Italian culture, entertainment and cooking with over 120 food and merchandise stalls and spectacular dance and music performances across five different stages. Already booked to perform are recording artist, Australian Idol finalist and Five Dock business owner Cosima De Vito, Coro D’Abruzzo Italian Choir and Shine Dance Academy Tarantella Dancers, with more performers, chefs and children’s entertainers still to be announced.
Free rides and activities, including a petting zoo, are sure to keep the children entertained.
