“Part of Vivid Ideas, Rhodes Creative is a program of workshops, activities and events held along the foreshore at The Connection that engages our entire community with the latest ideas and processes in creative practice,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Tsirekas said.
“Our programs at this state-of-the-art facility have been very successful and being part of Vivid Ideas raises the bar even higher. This year’s program boasts a collection of four cutting-edge workshops where technology and creativity collide.”
explores wearables in a creative, hands-on workshop, covering the basics of sewing with conductive thread, embedding LEDs and sensors, programmable platforms, and safe power sources.
Participants in the workshop will walk away with a circuit bent toy that makes wild new sounds as well as learning hacks and techniques to make their own instruments.

For those budding photographers, unlock the hidden potential of your digital SLR camera at . Learn how to paint with light, shoot without a lens and explore expanded camera techniques in this experimental half-day program.
The Connection, Rhodes is also home to the family friendly . Also part of Vivid Ideas, this disco celebrates the friendship between robots and humans both young and old. Celebrate the bonds between humans and machine, by meeting some of Sydney’s coolest robots and trying your skills at a range of hands-on activities. To top it all off, you can participate in an epic human robot dance or show your friendship in the human robot friendship booth.
