Drummoyne Oval Precinct

The newly constructed Drummoyne Oval Community Facility was officially opened on Thursday, 29 July by  Anthony Albanese, Federal Minister for Infrastructure and Local Government and Labor Member for Lowe, John Murphy.

At the time, Mr. Albanese also announced that if re-elected, the Gillard Government would provide an additional $1.75 million for the new floodlights for Drummoyne Oval. Council has since been advised that the Department of Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government will be providing this funding through the Community Organisation Infrastructure Grant Program.

The upgrade of the Taplin Park Boat Ramp Carpark has also been completed.

The new electronic scoreboard has been installed and is now in use.

Council called tenders for the Drummoyne Oval Electrical Power Upgrade in November 2010 and the successful contractor commenced work on site during March 2011, with the work expected to be completed in December 2011.

Council called tenders for the lighting upgrade at Drummoyne Oval and Taplin Park in November 2011, and it is expected that the successful contractor will commence work on site in January 2012 with the works expected to be completed by August 2012.
