Mayoral Column

Team Up to Clean Up Canada Bay on Sunday, 3 June is a fantastic new initiative of the City of Canada Bay to keep our waterways and foreshore clean for future generations.

After the disappointing wash out of Clean Up Australia Day, we invite you to take part in this special day focussing on our beautiful shoreline.

There will be low tide at this time so we can roll up our sleeves and really give our waterfront a good clean up.   With 32 kilometres of foreshore, 14 bays and 150 parks, our natural environment is precious and this is the ideal opportunity to give it a helping hand.

Free community barbecues will be hosted at Rodd Point, Cabarita Park and McIlwaine Park between 10am-12.30pm.

I will be visiting Rodd Point between 9-10.30am, Cabarita Park from 11am-12pm and McIlwaine Park at 12.30-1.30pm. I look forward to seeing you there.

Welcoming new business
It is great to see a new business in Drummoyne with the official opening of Gin and Tonic Clothing at Shop 10, The Odeon, 52 Lyons Road. Congratulations to Krissy Hutton and Catherine Jolley for taking this exciting step.

Red Shield Appeal
Don’t forget this Sunday, 20 May is the Salvos' Red Shield Appeal. If you can help out with doorknocking, please contact John on 0418 279 342. Volunteers are meeting at Briar’s Clubrooms at 2 Wellbank Street, Concord from 8.30am. Just one or two hours of your time will do so much for so many. The Salvos provide vital welfare and family support for our community and I hope you can give generously when someone comes to your door.
