Welcome
2010 was a wonderful year for the City of Canada Bay.
In December we celebrated the 10th birthday of the City of Canada Bay. We are still a young and evolving City that welcomes many new residents each year.
During our City's major growth phase it is important that we do not lose our sense of community. Our four Rotary Clubs work tirelessly at events including my Mayoral Golf Day and the inaugural Battle of the Smashers, a celebrity charity cricket event held at Drummoyne Oval which raised over $25,000 for Lucas Gardens School. The Relay for Life team raised $134,000 and Livvi's Place, Australia's First All Abilities Playground in Timbrell Park, was awarded the Best Playground in Australia at the 2010 Parks and Leisure Awards.
We celebrated the 25th anniversary of our Sister City Partnership with San Fele, located in the Basilicata region of Italy, where many Five Dock residents originate. The Mayor of San Fele, Gerardo Fasanella, joined us in December to celebrate this special union.
As a Council we are continuing to lobby the State Government against a proposed commercial marina in Kendall Bay. The Planning Assessment Commission will hold hearings in our City from 23 February and I encourage you all to attend. As a community this is our last chance to Save Kendall Bay!
Feel free to follow me by looking at the many photos taken at events and meetings I attend on my diary page or through the following:

Thank you for visiting the City of Canada Bay.
