A celebration from around the world at Concord Carnival
The City of Canada Bay's Concord Carnival, held on Sunday, 18 October was a great success with thousands of people coming along to enjoy a wonderful day out.
With three unique carnivals in one, Concord Carnival offered the chance to experience a taste of carnival Caribbean style, the mystic of Diwali ('festival of the lights') and a good old fashioned Australian Sports Carnival.
Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said, "Council's annual Concord Carnival, held on Majors Bay Road yesterday, was a fantastic event celebrating culture from around the world right here in Canada Bay.
"With a diverse range of entertainment and activities on offer, Concord Carnival provided our community an opportunity to enjoy a great day out."
With non-stop entertainment on the main stage, Carnival goers moved with the rhythm of reggae dance moves with ED5 and Falva of Caribbean. There was also the chance to groove to a Caribbean beat with Elihu Project and Caribbean Soul. Indian pop music from Ankita Sachdev and moves from Bollywood Groves kept the crowd entertained.
Activities at each Carnival zone were a great success, market stalls lining Majors Bay Road provided browsing delights and Concord's fantastic array of cafes and restaurants served up tasty treats.
Concord Carnival was a great day out, thank you to everyone who came along and enjoyed the day.
