Ferragosto entertains!
No matter what your taste, you'll find it at Ferragosto'10 on Sunday, 15 August at 10am-4pm on Great North Road, Five Dock. Ferragosto is the City's biggest festival and there's more going on in 2010!
Three stages will feature non-stop music and dancing with a mix of Italian, homegrown and children's entertainment. Italia will reign supreme on the main stage with an array of entertainment from traditional Italian folk songs and dancing to modern Italian music.
We will welcome to the stage award winning singer/songwriter Julia Melfi, Italian crooner Grant Galea and Italian tenor, born in Italy, now living in Sydney Angelo Di Bella. Local talent will entertain on the homegrown stage with performances from the likes of Sydney's Glee Club, dance company Q2 Dance, Five Dock Music School students, Italian pop vocalist Jessica Illuano, acoustic folk singer Jess Chalker and My Guitar School's finest up and coming talent.
Sit back and soak up the ambience at FerraPiazza, Ferrogosto's very own Italian square inspired by the traditional Italian piazza. This returns in an exciting new position which includes a wider and finer selection of wine straight from the vineyard. Fine wine maker Peterson's will be there with fabulous wines from the Hunter Valley, Mudgee and Armidale regions along with Littles Winery and a classic range of reserve wines from their Pokolbin vineyard. Other wineries include Tintilla Estate, Allandale Winery, Razorback Ridge, Gartlemann Wines, the Ballabourneen Wine Company and Peterson House.
FerraPiazza is the place to learn more about Italian culture in Australia and all there is to know about Italia. In particular, you'll be able to find out about some of the regions where our local Italian community hails from. So drop in and enjoy a taste of Italy!
Council would like to thank the Commonwealth Bank, proud sponsors of FerraPiazza, for their ongoing support of events.
Ferragosto is proudly brought to you by City of Canada Bay and supported by the Canada Bay Club, AdShel, Transpacific Cleanaway, the Inner West Courier and Club Five Dock.
