Pain management forum

February 02, 2012

Pain management is the topic of the first Public Health Panel on Tuesday, 28 February at Concord Hospital from 6.30pm.

Pain is one of the biggest health issues in Australia today and can greatly impact on an individual's quality of life.

This forum will provide information on how chronic pain can be effectively managed, discuss lifestyle issues and talk about how acute pain can turn into chronic pain if not managed correctly.

Panellists for the session are Dr Winnie Hong, Pain Clinic Coordinator at Concord Hospital, Sandra Tutt, a Clinical Nurse Consultant, psychologist Peter Mangioni, Dr Im Quah Smith, a medical acupuncturist and exercise physiologist Deb Koory.

This free forum will include light refreshments from 6.30pm and will conclude by 9pm.

A question and answer session with the panel will be available during the forum.

Bookings are essential, and to reserve your place, contact council on 9911 6580 or email Helen.Dlugosz@canadabay.nsw.gov.au by Tuesday, 21 February.

People who require assistance with transport should contact Drummoyne Community Centre on 9719 8102.
