Crime and love

February 21, 2012

Investigative journalist Rochelle Jackson will discuss her book Partners and Crime, a fascinating insight into women and their bad boy partners at Concord Library on Friday, 24 February at 1pm.

For some it is true love. For others it is the excitement, wealth and glamour. A fascinating exploration of the women who love the baddest of the bad boys - from Chopper Read to George Freeman and Robert Trimbole.

These women finally get the chance to tell their own stories. Surprising, intimate and at times confronting, Partners and Crime takes us behind the headlines and media hype to reveal what it is really like to live with men who are outside the law.

Rochelle grew up in Melbourne in a police family. Her father William was a policeman in Victoria Police and retired as a Chief Superintendent. She began her career in country Victoria and Sydney working in television and radio.

Rochelle worked as a TV producer and investigative journalist for Channel 7's Today Tonight, ABC's Australian Story, George Negus' New Dimensions, The Investigators, Channel 9's Watchdog and TV NZ's 60 Minutes.

She produced a one hour documentary for ABC TV 50 Years of News and Current Affairs in Victoria in 2006. She has also produced a four-part series about bush fire arson for ABC's Radio National.

Bookings are essential and the $7 booking fee includes light refreshments. Book online at www.canadabay.nsw.gov.au or contact Concord Library on 9911 6210 for more information.
