Canada Bay Council makes it easy to 'GO Local'

June 23, 2008

The City of Canada Bay Council has recently launched GO Local - an online business directory and campaign to encourage residents in the City of Canada Bay to GO Local and help create a more sustainable community.

Through a partnership with truelocal, residents can easily access up to date information on a wide variety of local companies through Council's website. Council is working in partnership with truelocal to deliver an effective online business directory.

Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said, 'Shopping locally and using local services not only supports the local economy, it helps protects the environment by reducing car emissions and energy used when travelling to other regions.'

'Council is pleased to be working in partnership with truelocal and excited to be able to offer this service to our community.'

There are 1,200 local businesses listed on GO Local and the most popular categories searched are restaurants, and building and renovation services.

Justine Young, Trade Marketing Manager of truelocal said, 'truelocal.com.au is proud to be supporting local business in the Canada Bay area. With over 4.3 million searches per month, truelocal.com.au connects people with local businesses. Customers on truelocal can rate and review businesses making it easier to make decisions about the products and services. Businesses can list their business for free or stand out from their competitors with a priority listing.'

Council encourages all residents to go local for their goods and services. Get involved and check out the GO Local business directory on the front page of Council's website by clicking here.
