Great North Road Committee - nominations sought

City of Canada Bay is seeking nominations from business people in Five Dock, Wareemba and Abbotsford to represent their commercial precincts on the Great North Road Committee.

The Great North Road Committee will support the direction of FuturesPlan20 (FP20) playing a key role in assisting in the delivery of a number of broad directions that will strengthen and sustain small business in the village centres.

"As a member of the business community in Five Dock, Wareemba or Abbotsford, this is your opportunity to collaborate with Council on a range of exciting programs to develop the vibrancy of each of these local centres," said Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.

"By working together we will continue to enhance village centres in the City for the benefit of residents and local business."

Members of the committee will work with Council and key stakeholders to; Support and facilitate village centres, develop retail and commercial strategies to respond to trends and create diverse and appealing shopping experiences, develop programs to strengthen and sustain small business, lead the development of tourism and visitor opportunities which improve sustainability of local business and develop opportunities within the City, and generate initiatives to revitalise and maintain village centres as vibrant community spaces.  

Nominations for the Great North Road Committee can be sent to Manager, Economic Development, City of Canada Bay, Locked Bay 1470, Drummoyne NSW 2047 or business@canadabay.nsw.gov.au by Friday, 10 July.
