Let's Play at McIlwaine Park
As part of City of Canada Bay's Let's Play Strategy, Council is pleased to invite our community to celebrate the opening of a new playground at McIlwaine Park.
Let's Play is a strategy adopted by Council to increase the potential of playgrounds in the City, and broaden play opportunities for children and families over the next 10 years.
Work on a number of playgrounds is currently underway, with McIlwaine Park now complete.
"Council is committed to ensuring our community has access to a range of play opportunities for their family, and Let's Play is a way in which we can deliver this," said Mayor Angelo Tsirekas.
Following consultation with the community, the design of McIlwaine Park was developed and the new playground features swings for toddlers and older children, a climbing net, spinners, a boat spring rocker and a junior and senior play unit.
Play facilities at Roberts Park in Rodd Point are also set for an upgrade with an additional play unit currently being installed.
Following new play equipment installed last year, Warbrick Park at Concord West has been further enhanced with new softfall.
To celebrate the opening of the playground at McIlwaine Park, Council invites our community to come to the park on Sunday, 1 November. The event will include an official opening at 1pm followed by a BBQ lunch and an afternoon of fun activities.
To RSVP for this event please contact Council on 9911 6580.
