Canada Bay parks come out to play
City of Canada Bay Council's Let's Play strategy is set to deliver another new play facility to the community.
Following the completion of a new playground at Kendall Reserve in Cabarita and the installation of new equipment at Howse Park in Concord and Warbrick Reserve in Concord West, Council is now constructing a new playground at Montague Park in Drummoyne.
Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said, "It's fantastic to see these brand new playgrounds and equipment being installed in the City's parks.
"Our parks are special and to be able to provide these new facilities for our community to use and enjoy is exciting."
Located at Henley Street, the playground at Montague Park will feature a slide, fire pole, abacus, bridge, rock wall, corkscrew climber and tunnel.
In addition to these, Council is developing new playgrounds at Henry Lawson Park in Abbotsford, Timbrell Park in Five Dock and McIlwaine Park in Rhodes. Community consultation on the design plans for the playground at Timbrell Park, an all abilities facility, will commence in July.
Equipment at a number of other playgrounds has also been upgraded including those located at; Henley Park in Concord, Werrell Reserve in Abbotsford, Roberts Reserve in Five Dock, Croker Park in Five Dock and Brett Park in Drummoyne.
