Wellbeing Festival a great success

May 09, 2008

The City of Canada Bay Council's first ever Wellbeing Festival held on Sunday, 4 May has been a great success.

With the sun shining on beautiful Brett Park in Drummoyne, 4000 people came along to enjoy the day.

Highlighting personal, community and environmental wellbeing, the Festival was a fantastic day out for the whole family.

A great line-up of Australian blues music took to the stage and got the crowd going in the Performance Zone, from Psycho Zydeco and Mr Percival to Extended Family, whose soulful tunes completed the day.

Festival goers got involved in the Activity Zone and took part in meditation and Thai massage workshops while the kids jumped for joy doing the gymnastics circuit.

The Learning Zone was also very popular, with many people interested in finding out how they can help make the world a greener place – from environmentally friendly cleaning products, to worm farming and composting – the seminars were very popular with lots of people keen to find out ways to reduce their carbon footprint.

Adults and children of all ages were keen to get their hands dirty in the Green Zone, with over 350 native plants being added to the local environment through an innovative bush care planting scheme.

With a great range of entertainment, information and food on offer, the Festival was a great day out for everyone!
