Drummoyne Oval Precinct

The newly constructed Drummoyne Oval Community Facility was officially opened on Thursday, 29 July 2010 by Anthony Albanese, Federal minister for Infrastructure and Local Government and Labour Member for Lowe, John Murphy. This follows a successful $5.3 million grant application through the Government's Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Projects program.

At the time, Mr Albanese also announced that if re-elected, the Gillard Government would provide an additional $1.75 million for the new sports lighting for Drummoyne Oval.  Council has since been advised that the Department of regional Australia, Regional development and Local Government will be providing this funding through the Community Organisation Infrastructure Grant Program.

Council has commenced the Drummoyne Oval electrical power upgrade and will undertake new sports lighting works later this year.

The upgrade of the Taplin Park Boat Ramp Carpark has also been completed.
