Line Marking Perpendicular to Driveways

When a request is received for parking restrictions across a driveway, the installation of linemarking perpendicular to driveways be preferred instead of the installation of ‘No Parking’ restriction signs.
 
The linemarking installation and maintenance, is at the applicants expense. Once the applicant has been consulted, in order to proceed with the linemarking a fee which is in accordance with Council’s yearly fees and charges is forwarded to Council . The same procedure applies when there is a request for re- painting the linemarkings.
 
The proposed linemarking perpendicular to the kerb, is installed on both sides of the driveways, at a distance of 0.5 – 1.0 metre from the edge of the driveway. Residents could also be encouraged to install on their driveway doors ‘No Parking’ signs.
