2017 will be another busy year for projects and initiatives on the Rhodes Peninsula, see below the latest update on those planned for development and implementation this year:

What’s coming in 2017?

Infrastructure projects

  • Implementation of 40km zone for Rider Blvd, high pedestrian activity area
  • Speed monitoring signage installation in Rhodes West
  • Advocacy for new ferry wharf for Rhodes East
  • Rhodes Foreshore Park and play equipment upgrade
  • Tree planting along Shoreline Drive median strip
  • Rider Blvd east footpath restoration works
  • Trial parking sensors on Shoreline Drive
  • Review of parking arrangements in Walker Street
  • Design and planning public domain improvements for Station Precinct (including sections of Walker, Mary, Gauthorpe and Marquet streets)
  • Cigarette Butt Bins installed at The Connection Projects and initiatives
  • Public art sculpture for Lewis Berger Park
  • Improved wayfinding from Rhodes Train Station to Brays Bay Reserve
  • Homebush Bay Circuit wayfinding strategy and masterplan in partnership with Sydney Olympic Park and City of Parramatta
  • New playgroups commencing at The Connection
  • Vivid is coming to Rhodes – Place Leaders Asia Pacific Conference and Rhodes Creative program
  • Master planning and consultation for the future of Rhodes East
  • Restoration of the Tulloch Memorial
  • Litter art installation and education program
  • Street dance mirror
  • Street Art Mural
  • Public Art Murals installed on four traffic signal boxes by Matt McLarty
  • The Learning Space Programs at The Connection including: robots, coding, 3D printing, circuits and more
  • Launch of the Men’s Tech Shed at The Connection
