Rhodes Car Sharing Scheme

Rhodes residents all have access to the GoGet car share scheme and have the opportunity to sign up for a membership. There are three car share spaces in total with one car each on Gauthorpe Street, Shoreline Drive and Timbrol Avenue. There are usage plans that may incur cost. Visit www.goget.com.au to review and sign up for a go-get car share plan.

Once you join and choose your usage plan, simply go on the website, book a car for the date and time required and go from there. After you have completed your use of the vehicle, all you need to do is return the car to where you picked it up. You will need to ensure that there is at least a quarter tank of fuel in the car – however there is a fuel card in the car, so you fill up and GoGet will cover the cost. All cleaning, registration, insurance and maintenance cost is also covered by GoGet, so it is a worry-free way to have the use of a car on demand without the ongoing cost.

IKEA, Go Get and Rhodes Shopping Centre have worked in partnership to make available car sharing opportunities within Rhodes Shopping Centre, near the IKEA entrance - refer to GoGetIKEA and Rhodes Shopping Centre for further details.

GoGet is just one of a variety of car sharing companies that provide car sharing services, take a look at Green Share Car and FlexiCar for additional car sharing options.

Rhodes Peninsula Parking

A trial of altered parking restrictions in Rhodes, west of the rail line, was carried out during late 2012 and early 2013. The trial followed community feedback seeking relaxed parking controls to assist visitors to the area to be able to find parking in this busy area.
The trial alterations, as part of the City of Canada Bay's Parking Plan for the Rhodes Peninsula has generally been accepted by the community, with a reduction in issues being raised with Council about parking. At the conclusion of the trial, and after consideration to further feedback received, several more alterations have been approved by Council. These are being implemented for a further trial period. The parking controls were again reviewed at the end of 2013.
