Nominations now open for City of Canada Bay's 2018 Sustainability Awards

“This program is our leading initiative in recognising local champions who have achieved excellence in the fields of environmental, economic or social sustainability in the City of Canada Bay,” Mayor Tsirekas said.  

“Awards are open to individuals, groups and businesses that show innovation and commitment to creating a smarter and greener community - it’s wonderful to see so many people dedicated to this cause,” he said.  

Held every two years, the program has grown in entry numbers and categories since it began in 2007, as part of Council’s Sustainable City Program.

This year’s theme is ‘Smart Cities’, which focuses on the use of smart technology, smart investment and smart communication and policy to create a more sustainable and flourishing community.  

The City of Canada Bay and Sydney University have partnered up this year for a , which aims to enhance community participation in the planning and evaluation of major urban projects.  

Nominations across 10 categories are now open and will close on .  

Winners will be announced at a prestigious awards night dinner held on at Rhodes Phoenix Restaurant.

                    Awards are open to businesses, community organisations and residents located in the City of Canada Bay.
