WasteLess in the Bay
WasteLess in the Bay

City of Canada Bay has had a major focus on resource recovery, waste minimisation and management.

We aimed to:

  • Reduce food waste in the red lidded waste bin
  • Recover recyclables lost in the red lidded waste bin
  • Reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill
  • Reduce the number of incorrect items (contamination) and the green lidded garden organics and yellow lidded recycling bins
  • Reuse items which are being placed out for disposal during the Bulk Household Collection.

To achieve these aims, we launched the successful WasteLess in the Bay community waste education and engagement program. We developed and implemented programs, resources and events to reduce waste to help the community WasteLess in the Bay.
