Australia Day 2008 - Citizen of the Year
Do you know a local resident who deserves to be honoured as the City of Canada Bay Citizen of the Year? Each year, Council recognises outstanding role models who support the local community while achieving success in their chosen fields and nominations are now open for 2007. Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Sport Citizen of the Year - any sports person who has achieved outstanding individual results in their chosen sport, or who has contributed significantly to the success of their team. (If individual must be a resident of the City of Canada Bay, if team member may be a member of a team based in the City of Canada Bay)
- Arts and Culture Citizen of the Year - any person who has contributed significantly to the artistic and cultural well being of the City of Canada Bay
- Young Citizen of the Year - any young person under the age of 18 who has contributed in a significant manner to the wider community or their school community in a voluntary capacity. (Must be a resident of the City of Canada Bay) and the overall
- 2007 Citizen of the Year - any resident over the age of 18 who has contributed in a significant manner to the wider community in a voluntary or paid capacity. (Must be a resident of the City of Canada Bay).
Mayoral Recognition Awards can also be presented to outstanding citizens who have made worthy contributions to the community. The 2007 award nominations are now open, and winners will be announced on Australia Day 2008.
