Bay Day

The City of Canada Bay's exciting new event, Bay Day held on Sunday, 29 March was a great success!

The sun shone on beautiful McIlwaine Park in Rhodes and 3,000 people came along to enjoy a fantastic day out.

A free festival for the whole family, Bay Day celebrated the wonderful world of tea and its popularity among many cultures.

A traditional Chinese lion dance kicked off a great range of entertainment that included gypsy and jazz music, two exciting performances from everyone's favourite koala Blinky Bill and a Charleston dance competition that had the kids dancing.

There were teas on offer from around the world to try and buy and the chance to have your tea leaves read, while the tea garden offered a wonderful place to sit back and watch a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.

The kids had a great time at the little tea party where they could make their own hat, listen to stories, have a whirl on the cup and saucer ride and tunnel through the jumping train.

Canada Bay's inaugural Bay Day was a tea-riffic day out.
