City of Canada Bay presented a three-day ‘Big Ideas in Place: Place Leaders Asia Pacific Conference 2017’ as part of Vivid, along with a series called 'Rhodes: Creative', which featured robots, 3D printing and wearable technology at The Connection, Rhodes.
the project is part of Council’s 20-year-vision to beautify and improve community infrastructure along Great North Road. Stage One involved tree and shrub planting, installation of new furnishings and pavements, relocating the overhead power network to underground, drainage improvements and rationalising street signage.
City of Canada Bay’s biggest event on the yearly calendar celebrated its milestone 20th birthday. The Italian-inspired street festival on Great North Road in Five Dock attracted over 100,000 visitors and featured over 120 food and merchandise stalls plus live entertainment across five stages.

we aim to reduce litter by 50 per cent by 2021 by shifting the focus to prevention (rather than clean-up) and increasing community pride. As part of the ‘’ plan, we have rolled out 17 new bigger bins across our area that can hold more than four times as much litter as old 55-litre bins.

we spent $5.53 million upgrading parks and playgrounds across the City. This included renewing play equipment at Sibbick Street Reserve, building a new playground at Nield Park and upgrading Russell Park Playground as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining safe and fun play spaces in our City.
