Summer Reading Club
Summer Reading Club 2012 - 'The Amazing Read'
The City of Canada Bay Library Service participates in this national program designed to encourage and promote reading and literacy during the summer school holidays. Children who read during school holiday breaks can maintain or even improve their reading levels.
To celebrate the 2012 National Year of Reading families are invited to take part in the Summer Reading Club. Register the children or the family and collect a Reading Log from Five Dock or Concord Library.
Children who read three books receive a tattoo, 6 books a sticker and 10 books a bookmark. Family registration involves one parent/carer or older sibling reading 1 book over the January holiday break. All children who read at least 10 books and return their completed Reading Log to the library before the 27 January will be invited to a party where they will be presented with a certificate, enjoy some party food and go into the draw for some great prizes. There will be a special prize draw for families who complete and return their Reading Log.
All books from the Premier's Reading Challenge lists read during the Summer Reading Club can be counted in the following year's PRC totals.
