Reader's Café at Concord Library

Do you love reading books and like talking about them?

Join us at Concord Library the third Wednesday of the month at 10am.

We look forward to an exciting year ahead.  The group is keen to cover current and topical issues.  Themes for discussions include Politics, Biographies, Australian History, Book adaptations into films, books you have read as a child and the impact it had on you as an adult and many more.

Each discussion will be lead by a nominated spokesperson. 

2009 Reader's Café dates and the themes that will be discussed are as follows:

  • January 21 - Planning meeting
  • February 18 - Political biographies - politicians and what do these people have in common concentrating on themes
  • March 18 - Australian histories - Exile
  • April 15 - Smith, Alexander McCall - Themes
  • May 20 - McEwan, Ian - Atonement
  • June 17 - Travel writings of your choice
  • July 15 - Proulx, Annie - Brokeback mountain
  • August 19 - Hosseini, Khaled - A thousand splendid suns
  • September 16 - Grahame, Kenneth - Wind in the willows
  • October 21 - Favourite autobiographies
  • November 18 - Brooks, Geraldine - March
  • December 16 - Open topic - to be decided
