Need a safe way to dispose of your household paints, chemicals, and oils for free? We’ve got you covered!

The City of Canada Bay is hosting the annual NSW EPA Household Chemical Cleanout for our residents on Saturday, 22 October. Come along to safely dispose of all unwanted gas bottles, poisons, pesticides, paints and other potentially hazardous chemicals that you have around your home for free.

Accepted materials 

  • Solvents and household cleaners
  • Ammonia-based cleaners
  • Fluorescent globes and tubes
  • Paint and paint-related products 
  • Pesticides and herbicides 
  • Poisons
  • Fire extinguishers 
  • Pool chemicals 
  • Hobby chemicals
  • Car batteries 
  • Motor oils, fuels and fluids  
  • Acids and alkalis
  • Floor care products 
  • Gas bottles.  

Remember to pack your chemicals safely and drive carefully. On arrival, follow the traffic controller’s instructions and stay in your vehicle. Staff will unload your vehicle.

Only household quantities are accepted (20L or 20kg), except for paint – up to 100L (in 20L containers) of paint will be accepted.
