IMPORTANT UPDATE: CONCORD CARNIVAL CANCELLED
We are sorry to announce Concord Carnival 2023 is cancelled.
Unfortunately the continued rain overnight has made the park too slippery and unsafe for an event of this nature.
Thank you to everyone for your enthusiasm and excitement about the event, we hope to see you next time.
Concord Carnival is returning to Greenlees Park on Sunday, 2 April from 10am–4pm.
This year Greenlees Park will come alive with the sights and sounds of Sydney’s Halcyon Days, an iconic period of time that spanned from the 1920s through to the late 1940s.
The roaring twenties was a period of economic prosperity and growth for the middle class. Women’s rights grew following their indispensable contribution to the war effort. There was a celebrity craze in the media with movie stars and sporting heroes attaining unprecedented fame. Sport stadiums and palatial cinemas were built. Cars, lighting, radio broadcasts and more became commonplace.
Revellers will be transported back in time with classic vehicle displays, free horse and carriage rides, vintage sideshows and a spiegeltent full of surprises including acrobatics and juggling. There will also be free amusement rides, food tucks, merchandise stalls, roving entertainment and performances.
A free shuttle bus will be running between Cintra Park car park, Crane Street car park and Greenlees Park on Sunday, 2 April. The bus will stop at each location approximately every 20 minutes and will run between 10am–12pm and 1–4pm.
