Our program is comprised of our much-loved Human Robot Friendship Ball and Rhodes Creative: Hands on Tech for Curious Creatives – a series of workshops that engage our entire community with the latest in creative practice, as well as our professional development lineup for librarians.
About the program:
Human Robot Friendship Ball
Are you a robot who likes humans, or a human who likes robots? Join us for the popular Human Robot Friendship Ball. Celebrate the bonds between human and machine with a range of hands-on activities, robot demonstrations, games and dancing. This is your chance to talk to students, makers, robots, and experts. The highlight of the evening is the robot dance-off where we share the dance floor with our robot friends. Great family fun for children seven years and over.
Are you 13 years old or younger? Take part in our colouring competition celebrating the Human Robot Friendship Ball! There are two prizes in each age category up for grabs (7 years and under, and 8-14 years). Click here to download the colouring sheet and click here to read the competition terms and conditions.

This year we return with three creative workshops developed specifically for Vivid Sydney. Workshops include Wearable Electronics, 3D Printing for Creatives, and Storytelling with Augmented Reality.
Makerspace Workshops for Libraries
Librarians are welcome to the team from The Learning Space, City of Canada Bay Libraries, for these hands-on workshops in wearable tech, VR/AR, and 3D printing designed to help you plan, organise and run makerspace activities in your own library and community spaces.
