Celebrate Christmas in the Bay

With Christmas right around the corner, the City of Canada Bay is full of wonderful activities to get your family into the Christmas spirit.

“The holiday season is a special time of year where the community spirit really shines through,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said. “We have a variety of great events on over the Christmas period and I encourage everyone to get involved and celebrate with the community.”

Carols in the Park

Love a good Christmas singalong? Come along to this year’s Communities for Communities Carols in the Park on Monday, 17 December from 6pm at Halliday Park, Five Dock.

There will be live entertainment, children’s activities, food, beverages and most excitingly, a special visit from Santa! Local charity Communities for Communities which is sponsored by the City if Canada Bay will also be raising funds to support a disadvantaged community in Cambodia.

Mayor’s Giving Tree

Support local families this Christmas by donating to the Mayor's Giving Tree. Bring donations of non-perishable food items, new toys, toiletries and gift cards for trees at the following locations from Monday, 3 December:

  • Canada Bay Civic Centre (Drummoyne)
  • Concord Library
  • Five Dock Library
  • The Learning Space at The Connection, Rhodes

All items will be collected on 14 December and distributed across the City of Canada Bay by St Vincent de Paul Society volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure those experiencing disadvantage can have an enjoyable Christmas.

Christmas Craft

If you’re favourite thing about Christmas is the craft drop-in to The Connection, Rhodes anytime between 10:30am-12pm, and 3-5:30pm from 15-24 December and enjoy making an assortment of Christmas cards and decorations for free.
