The City of Canada Bay has launched a new and improved online system, making it simpler and more convenient for residents to apply for and renew parking permits.
All current parking permits will need to be renewed by 30 June 2026 through the new system. Once renewed, eligible Resident, Visitor and Parks parking permits will now be valid for three years — reducing the need for frequent renewals and cutting down on administration.
Mayor Michael Megna said the improvements are part of Council’s ongoing commitment to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
“Our goal is to make Council services as simple and efficient as possible for our community,” Mayor Megna said.
“This new system reduces paperwork and saves time, giving residents a more convenient way to manage their parking permits.”
The new process is particularly quick for existing permit holders whose address and vehicle registration details have not changed.
“I know from speaking with residents that the permit application process has been a longstanding frustration. This is a common-sense change that will make a real difference to people’s day-to-day interactions with Council.”
“At the same time, this initiative will free up thousands of hours for our customer experience team, allowing them to focus on supporting residents with other important services.”
