Lights, camera, action! Free Foreshore Flicks coming this summer

Community & events | 22 January 2026

This summer, the City of Canada Bay is bringing the magic of movies to the great outdoors with its free Foreshore Flicks series.

Running from 5:30pm every Friday between 30 January and 20 February, the series will feature family-friendly films and pre-movie activities at some of the City’s most scenic foreshore parks.

“Foreshore Flicks is all about bringing the community together,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Michael Megna said.

“It’s a simple idea – bring a picnic rug, enjoy a movie under the stars and spend time with family, friends and neighbours in some of Sydney’s most beautiful parks.”

Each evening will begin at 5:30pm with activities for the whole family to enjoy, followed by movie screenings at 6:30pm.

Event partner Optus will add to the festivities with free photo souvenirs, lawn games and fairy floss for attendees.

“Foreshore Flicks is a great example of how local events can create memorable experiences for families and residents,” Optus General Manager of NSW Local Markets Nick Gibson said.

“We’re proud to be part of an event that celebrates community and the best of summer.”

Club Five Dock RSL will also support the series with face painting, popcorn and a sausage sizzle, with proceeds going to a local charity.

“Community events like Foreshore Flicks play an important role in bringing people together,” Club Five Dock RSL CEO David Conway said.

“We’re proud to support an event that builds community and encourages people to enjoy their local parks.”
