As a result of this major project, there will be temporary changes to traffic flows in Drummoyne, with Henley Marine Drive becoming a one-way street for vehicles travelling north-east from Thompson Street to Renwick Street . The work is expected to last for six months from the start date and the temporary traffic arrangements will be in place during this time.
The traffic flow changes will ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists using the Bay Run during the construction phase.
The project includes the widening of the footpath to accommodate cyclists and pedestrians, ensuring the Bay Run grows even more in popularity. Already it is one of Sydney’s most-used foreshore tracks with up to 700 people using the Bay Run per hour every morning.
