Crowds flock to enjoy Concord Carnival

| 13 October 2014

Under blue skies, crowds flocked to the new location of Greenlees Park yesterday to enjoy Concord Carnival, with Mayor Angelo Tsirekas estimating about 30,000 people attended the event.

In a first for , the event was held at Greenlees Park - one of the City's spacious and lush green spaces - which perfectly suited the 2014 theme of ‘Paws 'n’ Claws, Tails 'n’ Scales’.

“I’d like to thank our local community and visitors who enjoyed the atmosphere of this year’s Carnival,” Mayor Tsirekas said.

There was so much to see and do in the various arenas from dog obedience and Siberian Husky sled dog demonstrations, dog and owner fitness classes, sheep dog trials and sheep shearing.

“The sun shone and we were thrilled with the crowds – including the four-legged friends – who came to celebrate all that is great about Concord and the surrounding area.

“I’d also like to thank our sponsors and local businesses for supporting the event. It's their support that helps make events like these a success.”

We look forward to bringing Concord Carnival back even bigger and better next year!
